How to buy credits when you run out

Credits pay for everything ComicKnit draws and writes. New accounts start with 500 free credits. When you run low, topping up takes about a minute — and unfinished comics wait for you.

Step 1: Check your balance

Your credit balance is the yellow coin badge in the top-right corner. Click it to open your Wallet: your Current Balance and a list of recent transactions, so you can see exactly what each step cost.

Step 2: Start checkout

Click the + button next to your balance. Or go to Settings and, under Need more credits?, press Buy Credits.

Credits come in bundles of 125. On the Stripe checkout page you can change the quantity — up to 10 bundles (1250 credits) in one purchase.

Step 3: Pay and return to ComicKnit

Complete payment on Stripe. You're sent back to ComicKnit with a confirmation like Added 125 credits, and your balance updates right away.

If you cancel on the Stripe page, nothing is charged.

Step 4: Download your invoice

Every purchase creates an invoice. Find them in Settings under Payment Invoices and download the PDF for your records.

Step 5: Finish a comic that ran out of credits

If you run out partway, you'll see a message like “Insufficient credits. You need 30 credits…”. Your comic is saved at the step it reached.

After topping up, open the comic from My Comics — it resumes at the step where it stopped. Pages that were already drawn are kept and aren't charged again.

Questions & answers

What if I was charged by mistake?

Purchases are final unless the law requires otherwise. If you believe you were charged in error, reach out through the Contact Us page within 14 days of the purchase.

Do I get free credits?

Yes. Every new account gets 500 free credits — enough to make several short comics.

Is payment secure?

Yes. Payment happens on Stripe's secure checkout page. ComicKnit does not store your card details.

Am I charged if generation fails?

Pages are charged as they are generated. When you retry failed pages, only the pages that still need drawing are charged — completed pages are reused.
