How to create an animation video from your comic

Every finished comic can become a short animated video. Each comic page becomes a scene, your characters keep their look from the reference images, and you trim the final cut on a timeline before exporting an MP4.

Step 1: Open the Animation Studio

Open your comic from My Comics. Under Animations, click Create Animation (or Resume Animation if you already started one).

Shortcut: on the script review screen, Create Video takes you straight to the studio after the reference images are made.

Step 2: Choose the video model and format

Pick a Video Model: Seedance 2.0 Fast (the default), MiniMax H3 or MiniMax H3 Max. Then pick an Aspect Ratio: 16:9 for YouTube and laptops, 1:1 for social feeds, or 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and Stories.

Press Create Animation. The model you pick is locked for this animation — create another one to try a different model.

Step 3: Check the estimate and start the run

Step 1 · Settings and Estimates shows the estimated video length and credits. Each shot — roughly one panel — costs 10 credits.

Press Start Run. You can Stop Run at any time and Resume Run later.

Step 4: Review each scene

Step 2 · Timeline Review and Step 3 · Generation Monitor show each scene as it is made. In Step 4 · Review Outputs, play each scene clip.

Not happy with a scene? Retry Video Only keeps the scene's start frame and makes a new clip — you can add a short prompt adjustment and add extra characters or props from your comic. Regenerate Scene rebuilds the whole scene from scratch.

Step 5: Trim on the timeline and export

In Step 5 · Export, click Open Timeline Editor. Press Play Preview to watch the whole cut. Move the playhead and press ✂ Split at Playhead to cut a clip into segments, then Omit Segment to drop the parts you don't want (Restore Segment brings them back).

When it looks right, press Export under Full MP4 to download the finished video. Prefer to edit elsewhere? Download Scene ZIP gives you every scene clip separately.

Questions & answers

Does the video have sound?

Yes. Clips are generated with audio, including your characters' dialogue. How speech and sound are rendered depends on the video model you choose.

How long will my video be?

It depends on the number of panels and the amount of dialogue. Each page becomes a scene, and the studio shows the estimated runtime before you start.

Will my characters look the same as in the comic?

The video uses the same character, location and prop reference images as your comic, plus each scene's finished page art as a style guide, so the look carries over.

Can I make several videos from one comic?

Yes. Each animation run is saved separately under Run History, so you can try another model or aspect ratio without losing earlier results.
