How to make your comic public by publishing it
Comics are private until you publish them. Publishing gives your comic its own link, puts it on the Explore feed and your profile, and lets readers like, comment and follow you.

- About 2 minutes
- Steps
- 5 steps
Step 1: Open your finished comic
Go to My Comics and click the comic you want to share. Below the reader you'll see the Export, Sharing, Series and Tags sections.
Step 2: Press Publish
Under Sharing, press Publish. A green PUBLIC badge appears, along with your comic's public link (like /c/the-lost-cat).
Press Copy to copy the link and share it anywhere — anyone can read it, no account needed.
Step 3: Add tags so readers can find it
Under Tags, add a few words readers might search for — the genre, the topic, the audience. ComicKnit adds some tags automatically; edit them so they fit.
Each tag has its own browse page on Explore, so good tags bring in readers who love that kind of story.
Step 4: See where your comic shows up
Once published, your comic appears in several places:
- Explore — the public feed, sorted by trending, recent and popular, with search and tag filters.
- Your profile — set a username in Settings so your profile lives at /u/your-name.
- Tag pages — one page per tag.
- Your series page — if the comic is an episode, and subscribers are notified.
Step 5: Unpublish any time
Changed your mind? Press Unpublish in the same place. The comic becomes private again: it leaves Explore and your profile, and the public link stops working.
